For the tourists to enter India they should possess a valid passport, no matter what ever the nationality is, the traveler should possess a visa which is obtained from the Indian Embassy or the Consulate. Tourist Visa validity comes in three ranges: six months, three months and fifteen days. Business Visas can also be issued for up to five years with a provision of multiple entry. Foreign tourists who wish to work in the state can obtain an employment visa along with the residential permit from the regional registration office in Delhi.
Tourists traveling to India with a visa valid for more than 180 days are required to register with the nearest foreigner’s registration officer within two weeks of their arrival in India. Registration is required only once during their visa validity. Tourists may leave and re-enter the country as many times they desire provided their visa is stamped for multiple entries. Anyhow, they are required to surrender their registration certificate at the time they are departing from the country.
