The north and northwest areas of Delhi are provided electricity through the North Delhi Power Limited which is a joint venture between Tata power and Government of Delhi. The central, southwest region and eastern parts of Delhi are provided electricity by the BSES Rajdhani / Yamuna Power Ltd.
Most of the American and European appliances will work fine within the voltage parameters of Delhi i.e. 220 volts -240 volts . However, incase some instruments require a different range of voltage than a voltage converter can be used for the same purposes .
All the deluxe, luxury, five star and heritage hotels in Delhi have a backup of electricity. They include all modern amenities like TV, AC, fridge, electronic safe, water heaters, high speed internet access, international direct calling etc for the convenience of tourists. Standard electric sockets are found in the hotel rooms and if the tourist is carrying a laptop or any other electric appliance, it would be recommended that they carry an adaptor with them to ensure that their appliance works.
