Goa is the one of the most advanced states in India in terms of education and industry infrastructure. Owing to its pristine beaches, scenic beauty and beautiful landscapes Tourism is the largest industry in Goa. This amazing State of India is divided into four divisions. These four divisions are Eastern Hills, Central Valley Lands ,Flood Plains Coastal Plains. The eastern hill region includes areas in the Western Ghats such as Ponda, Canacona, Sanguem and Sattari. The Central Valley Lands include Ponda, Bicholim, Pernem, Quepem and Eastern Sanguem. The Flood plains include the coastal plains and the rolling uplands and the Coastal Plains include Bardez, Salcete, Tiswadi and Mormugao. Goa has a Portuguese influence as the Portuguese lived here from 1510 under the command of Alfonso de Albuquerque after the discovery of the spice route by Vasco Da Gama. In 1961, Goa was liberated by the Indian Army from Portuguese colonization and became a Union Territory along with the Daman and Diu islands. Goa is divided into Old and New Goa and has more than 300 churches and numerous beaches which made the place a popular tourist destination. It is well known for its exotic wines, coconut trees, cashew nuts, mangoes, pineapples, rubber and oil palm.
