Health

There are certain health precautions which would be required while traveling to Goa. Since Goa is a beach destination, be prepared to be exposed to the sun and carry sun glasses, suntan lotions and comfortable cotton wear. While traveling in winter, one could carry light woolen wear. Drinking plenty of water is a must to prevent dehydration while holidaying in Goa. While at the beach, it is recommended to avoid going barefoot to prevent fungal infection or at least clean oneself thoroughly after spending time at the beach.

It is important to check for hygiene and cleanliness while eating at the joints or smaller restaurants. Drinking mineral water is advisable . However, the tourists need to take the required precautions to avoid unhygienic food and water from shoddy places, lest one may have stomach problems like diarrhea.

Malaria is a rising concern, as in 2007; there were several cases of Malaria detected. Agents are being asked to recommend malaria prevention tablets to the tourists visiting Goa. All foreign tourists are advised to check up with their medical practitioners or a travel health clinic before traveling. Taking the necessary vaccinations is the best way to avoid any kind of aggravated problem.
