Home - Fact Sheet - Goa Travel Details - Visa Permits
Visa Permits

The visa application has to be accompanied by a passport of minimum six month validity from the departure date from India. Foreign nationals holding nationalities other than the country from where they are applying for the visa should submit proof of long term permanent residence in the country. The citizens of other countries have to make a reference to their country of residence. The Indian mission issues the following visas like the Tourism Visa, Business Visa, Student Visa, Transit Visa, Missionary Visa, Journalist Visa, Conference Visa and Employment Visa.

Tourist visas are usually obtainable for a period of three to six months for multiple entries. If the tourist applies for a visa through the Indian embassy located in their respective country, then the process of obtaining a visa is faster. The formalities, time for getting the visa after application and cash acceptance methods vary from country to country.

Certain regions in India require a special permit in addition to the Indian visa which is issued by the Indian High Commission and Embassy of India abroad or by the foreigner’s registration offices in Indian cities or the Ministry of Home Affairs in Delhi. If you travel with travel agencies in a group, the formalities of the permits and visas is done by them.
