However the best time to go to Goa would be in winter months of India that is approximately during October to March. In India, during Christmas and New Year the maximum tourist traffic happens in Goa . The winters are pleasant with sunny days and cool nights. The summer time is also fine and it gets humid . During the period between June to August, there are heavy rains making it unsafe to venture near the sea and enjoy at the beach. However many hotels and resorts organize plethora of programs and events like rain dance and rain festivals .Besides, the weather Goa is in a festive mood during Christmas and the New Year.
Many local tourists from Pune, Mumbai and other places come to Goa during the New Year and Christmas to enjoy their vacations and have a good time with friends and family. The carnival period in the month of February to March is another peak time when many tourists are found visiting Goa.
Even the monsoons can be enjoyed here as you need not spend time indoors. The combination of rain and the sea creates a magic as you can enjoy the abundance of nature in this scenic place. The cool breeze, the swaying palm trees and the glistening ripples of the sea are sure to enthrall you along with the raindrops caressing the soft sands. It would be risky to venture out near the sea during this time of the year though.
