The KPTCL or the Karnataka Power transmission Corporation Limited is the lone electricity distribution and transmission company in the Karnataka State. The domestic output voltage all over India and also in the state of Karnataka is about 220-240 volts. The electricity distribution and transmission unit was established in order to provide reliable and efficient electricity power supply to the people staying in the state of Karnataka.
Most of the foreign appliances especially from Europe and America work fine in this particular range of voltage. Anyhow, those appliances which are not well-suited with the state’s voltage range should use a voltage converter. Tourists can select a Resistor-network converter which supports 50-1600 Watts transformers to ease usage of electric appliances. In India, plug outlets are generally of two types, such as two round pins and three round pins in a triangle. In case your appliance has a different socket fitting, then you’ll need a plug adaptor. Depending upon the plan of traveling, tourists should always keep with combination of plug adaptor and voltage converter in order to avoid inconvenience.
