Kathmandu is connected both by air and by road to other parts of Nepal. This Himalayn countries only international airport is Tribhuvan Airport which is situated in Kathmandu. Most of the flights take a halt in Delhi, Kolkata and Bangkok. Other international flights may require changing the carrier at the gulf or the Western Europe.
The easiest and the most convenient way to reach Kathmandu from India, is by road. Though there are no direct buses from India to Kathmandu, the mode of transport is convenient. The tourists traveling from India to Kathmandu need to change the bus at the border of Nepal. Bus services are available from Lhasa in Tibet till Kathmandu.
The tourist mini buses are available to reach at Chitwan or Pokhara near Kathmandu. Though these buses are little expensive, they are safer and easier mode of transport.
There is no railway service available to reach to Kathmandu.
