Rajasthan is generally considered a tourist friendly destination. People normally return home from a trip without much health problems, provided they don’t over indulge. The major problem travelers can face in Rajasthan is due to the fine dust blown in from the desert. The region is largely arid and thus the air packs contain a lot of fine particles. Pollution can be an issue in the larger cities like Jaipur and Jodhpur. However, when compared to other major cities in India, it’s well below the normal levels. Travelers who wear contact lenses can have a tough time due to increased presence of fine dust particles. They are strongly advised to wear shades while going out. The sunrays can be pretty harsh so make sure you pack a good sunscreen.
Abstain from treating yourself to a drinking water from roadside eateries and small hotels. Bottled water is cheap and easily available, be sure to check the seal.It is recommended that travelers are properly insured and make sure the insurance includes the repatriation costs.
