The geographical and climatic diversification is the reason that there is such a huge reserve of wildlife in India. But many of the species are on the verge of extinction and have been declared as endangered species. For this reason Indian Government has established Sanctuaries, National Parks and Bio reserves. All these Parks and wildlife reserves (total 521 in number) which are spread all over the country, serve to be the Wildlife destinations in India.

Wildlife Destinations in North India include Ranthambore National Park, Corbett National Park, Keoladhana bird Sanctuary. Animals that can be spotted at these places are Leopards, striped Hyenas, black Bucks, Chinkaras, Indian Flying Fox and the Tigers to name a few.

Moving to the West, the Famous Wildlife Destinations in this region are the Gir National Park (Gujarat), the only habitat of the famous Asiatic Lions, Marine National Park (Gujarat) and Sanctuary, the first marine national park in India, Tadoba National Park (Maharastra), Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary (Goa) and Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary in Gujarat. These National Parks and Sanctuaries boast to be a home for over 40 species of mammals and 450 species of birds.

Around 22 percent of the total population of tigers is housed in the tiger reserves of Central India. Wildlife Destinations in India, Central include Kanha and Bandhavgarh. Other animals that are found in forests on Central India are wild buffalo, the mocking hill myna, 4 horned antelope, sloth bear, wild bore, bison and many more.

The Wildlife Destinations in Eastern India are home for some of the rarest species of animals in the World. The Kaziranga National Park (Assam) is famous for the 1 horned rhinoceros, the Manas Wildlife Sanctuary (Assam) for the Pigmy Hog and the Hispid Hare and The Sunderbans Wildlife Sanctuary (West Bengal) for the Royal Bengal Tiger.
