Given below is the the tour itinerary: South India Religious Trip/Tamilnadu & Kerala Temple Tours. The duration of this trip/tour is thirteen days and twelve nights.
Day 1: Arrival at Chennai. Night stay at one of the hotels in Chennai
Day 2: Visit to the tourist attractions of Chennai. These are the Madras Museum, the Santhom Church, St, George Fort and the Kabalishwara Temple. Night stay at this city.
Day 3: Travel to Kanchipuram, a city of Tamil Nadu that is situated at a distance of 76 kms from Chennai. A visit to some of the interesting places of Kanchipuram, which are Varatharaja Temple, Kailasnatha Temple, Ekambareswara Temple and Vaikunda Perumal Temple. Night stay at Mahabalipuram, a city situated at a distance of 46 kms from Kanchipuram.
Day 4: Visit to the Shore Temple, Krishna’s Butter Ball, Arjuna’s Penance, Tiger Cave and the Five Rathas of Mahabalipuram. Night stay at Mahabalipuram.
Day 5: Journey to Pondicherry, a town situated at a distance of 162 kms from Mahabalipuram and a visit to the Auroviile ( a township), on route. Rest for a while at a hotel in Pondicherry and after lunch, a visit to the Aurobindo Ashram.
Day 6:Journey to Chidambaram, a city situated at a distance of 65 kms from Pondicherry. A trip to the Nataraja Temple to watch the special ceremony. Travel to Kumbakonam, Dasuram, Gangai Kondacholapuram, after having lunch. Night stay at Tanjore
Day 7: Sightseeing of the city of Tanjore. The places include Art Gallery, Bragadeeswara Temple and Palace. Night stay at Trichi,
Day 8: A visit to the Rock Fort Temple and the Srirangam Temple of Trichy. Overnight stay at Madurai,
Day 9: A trip to the few interesting places of Madurai, which are Nayak Place, Mariamman Teppakulam and Meenakshi Temple. Relax in the afternoon. If you wish, you can be at the Mennakshi Temple to watch the night ceremony. Night stay at the city of Madurai.
Day 10: Enjoy the beautiful drive to the sanctuary, known as the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. While traveling, do not miss out on the opportunity to take a look at the scenic beauty outside from your car window. Check in at a hotel and after having your lunch, you can enjoy a boat ride on the Periyar Lake. Night stay at Periyar.
Day 11: A tour of the Spice Plantation and a boat ride. Journey to Kottayam, and after you have your lunch at Kottayam, opt for a boat ride on the backwaters to Alleppey. You would get picked up from Alleppey and from there you travel to Cochin. Spend the night at Cochin.
Day 12: Know the city of Cochin well by visiting its most well known tourist attractions. These are Antique Market, Jewish Synagogue, Fort Cochin, Spice Market, St. Francis Church and Matancherry Palace. Katahakali Dance show in the evening. Spend the night at Cochin.
Day 13: Drive to the railway station or to the airport, so that you can proceed on with your journey. .
