Rajasthan Palaces Tour
10 Days/9 Nights

Delhi – Jaipur – Sariska – Mandawa – Bikaner – Khimsar – Jodhpur

 
Day 01: Delhi
On the commencement of your Rajasthan Palaces Tour, you arrive at the Delhi Airport. You are welcomed by the tour representatives here, and they later transfer you to your hotel in Delhi. It is located in northern India on the banks of the River Yamuna. It is the second largest metropolitan city in India.

Day 02: Delhi
Today you go for a sight seeing tour of Old and New Delhi. You get to visit the Mughal Monuments, the Jama Masjid and the Red Fort. The Red Fort and Jama Masjid are magnificent and imposing structures in red sandstone, built by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Then you visit the Raj Ghat and the India Gate. Raj Ghat is the memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. India Gate is an impressive archway, a memorial built in the memory of the Indian Army soldiers who laid down their lives in World War 1. In the later half you get to visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Mughal Gardens, the Qutub Minar and other places of tourist interest. Rashtrapati Bhawan is the palatial official residence of the President of India. It is designed by Lutyens and houses the world famous Mughal Gardens. In the evening you visit the Red Fort once again to view the Sound and Light Show.

Day 03: Jaipur
In the morning, post breakfast you head towards Jaipur. After arrival you check into the hotel. Later you go for a half day excursion on elephant back to the Amber Fort. Here you also get to see the Sheesh Mahal. The colored mirrors on the ceilings glorify the beauty of Sheesh Mahal. Other places to visit are the City Palace, Amar Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh, and the Jai Garh Fort. The City Palace of Jaipur is an impressive structure representing beautiful blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Hawa Mahal is an imposing building, which was exclusively used by the royal Rajasthani women to see the happenings on the road. Jantar Mantar, Jaipur is one of the total five observatories that were built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. You have the evening at your disposal and you can go shopping or indulge in some other leisure activity. You can also enjoy a Rajasthani Meal at Chokhi Dhani.

Day 04: Jaipur and Sariska
On the fourth day of your Rajasthan Palaces Tour, you drive to Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary. Here, you get to see a vast variety of birds and animals. Overnight stay is at the Sariska Wildlife Resort.

Day 05: Mandawa
In the morning, you proceed towards Mandawa. After arrival you check in to the hotel. Later you go for a guided tour of Shekhawati. Here you get to see the Havelis which were built in the 18th and 19th century by the rich merchants. The Havelis are lavishly decorated and adorned with beautiful wall paintings representing social, religious, folk and historical themes.

Day 06: Mandawa and Bikaner
Early in the morning, you will view the sunrise at the Desert Resort in Mandawa. Later you proceed to Bikaner and check in to your hotel after arrival. In the afternoon, you visit the Camel Breeding Farm. In the evening you can stroll around the bazaars at the City Center.

Day 07: Bikaner
On the seventh day of your Rajasthan Palaces Tour, you go for a city tour of Bikaner. Visit the Junagarh Fort, a 16th Century monument, which is a museum now. You also get to visit the Lalgarh Palace and the Jain Temples. Lalgarh Palace is a beautiful stately building in red sandstone with well laid out gardens. Bhandasar Jain Temples in Bikaner are a perfect and true representation of Jain beliefs and way of life.

Day 08: Bikaner, Deshnok, Nagaur, Khimsar
In the morning you leave for Khimsar. This is a small township that gleams bright in yellow and golden sandstones. En route you visit the Rat Temple or the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok. The temple possesses a six hundred year old deity of the goddess Karni. In the route you also visit the town of Nagaur. It’s a small town with village like ambience. In the afternoon, you reach Khimsar and get to visit the Khimsar Palace which is also a heritage hotel. Overnight stay is at the Khimsar Heritage Hotel.

Day 09: Khimsar, Osian, Mandore, Jodhpur
In the morning, you leave for the city of Jodhpur. En route you also visit Ossian and Mandore. In Osian, you get to see the Jain temples built in the 11th Century, Sun Temple, Kali Temple and the Sachiya Mata Temple. In Mandore, you see the cenotaphs and gardens of the rulers of Jodhpur. You reach Jodhpur by evening and check into your hotel.

Day 09: Jodhpur and Delhi
In the morning, you leave for an expedition of the Mehrangarh Fort which is situated on the Aravalli range. Another place to visit is the Umaid Bhawan Palace. It is still the residence of the former rulers of Jodhpur. Half of the palaces are converted to the Heritage Chain of Hotels while the other half has been preserved as museums. You reach Delhi by evening and are transferred to the International Airport wherefrom you board your flight.
