Tourist attractions in Ooty
Ooty is an ideal tourist destination as it not only offers respite from the dust and pollution of the city but also offers a beautiful view of forests and hills. There are many Tourist attractions in Ooty, some these exotic sites are Botanical Gardens, Ooty Lake and Doddabeta Peak The Botanical Gardens is maintained by the Horticulture Department of the State and hosts more than 650 species of trees and plants. The Ooty Lake which is 2.5 kilometer long is one of the most frequented tourist destinations of Ooty. . The Doddabeta Peak which is situated at an altitude of 2,623 meters is the highest point of the district. This highest peak of Ooty is an ideal for taking pictures. One can also see the far off plains of Coimbatore on a clear day. Lamb’s Rock is another place from where one can click pictures. Kodanadu’s View Point provides a wonderful view of the tea estates and the famous Moyar River. The watchtower here offers a nice view of the Rangasamy Peak.

Ooty is a hilly resort and is located in Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated amidst 4 hills, belonging to the Nilgiri Range, namely Doddabeta, Elk Hill, Snowdon and Club Hill. One can easily travel to Ooty by air , rail and road .. The nearest airport is at Coimbatore (88 kilometers) and the Ooty Railway Station is 2 kilometers from the City Centre.

There are many places near Ooty which one would like to visit. The Madumalai Wildlife Sanctuary is rich in flora and fauna. This sanctuary boasts of being a home to a large number of wild animals and birds.. The little village of Kotagiri, East of Ooty, is also a hill station and has beautiful tea estates. The 100 feet high Kolhatty waterfalls are located on the Kolhatty slopes. Sim’s Park, Dolphin’s Nose, Avalanche, Coonnoor are other places of interest.
